Aging has become a global phenomenon. Finland and Japan are ones of the most aged countries in the world. They, and also the other countries are seeking a new model of sustainable elderly-care services. Under this situation, a Finnish-Japanese collaborative research project about elderly-care services and assistive technologies, called “METESE Project” started in 2015. We have been conducting research on elderly-care assistive technologies (ICT, robot etc.) from multiple perspectives, especially how these technologies should be utilized and disseminated in elderly-care services and the life of the elderly.
METESE symposium @ Finland is an international symposium to discuss future care services and assistive technologies based on the understanding of current elderly-care services in Finland and Japan. We expect a number of participants from care service providers (both management and practitioners), municipalities, assistive technology developers, research institutes / universities, and other related fields.
